Catering Manager vs. Wedding Coordinator
We frequently get the question "What is the difference between a Catering Manager and Wedding Coordinator?" Please see below for a description of what each individual is responsible for and will assist you with.
Catering Manager:
- Act as your primary Hotel Contact, available to answer questions and provide suggestions along the way.
- Recommend Special Event Professionals to provide wedding coordination, music, floral, photography, ceremony officiant, invitations and amenities.
- Act as menu consultant for all food and beverage selections.
- Detail your banquet Event Order and Wedding Resume outlining all of your event specifics and ensure that it is communicated to the operational team of the hotel.
- Create an estimate of charges outlining your financial commitments and deposit schedule.
- Create a floor plan of your function space, in order for you to provide seating arrangements.
- Establish your guest room block (if applicable) and monitor the status of reservations. Personally oversee the details of the bride and groom's room reservation (if applicable).
- Oversee the ceremony and reception room(s) set-up, food preparation and other hotel operations.
- Be the on-site liaison between your wedding coordinator and hotel operations staff.
